A Master Franchise License
Setting up as a franchisor requires that
you have a head office, sufficient staff, and the right resources in
terms of marketing budget and infrastrucure. This means that most
international master licences set a minimum in terms of the amount of
capital required for set up costs. Whilst this does indeed vary from
country to country, we would expect that in Europe the necessary
funding in most countries will not fall far short of around € 250,000.
Clearly not for the faint hearted then.
Prior to any formal discussions with a
potential master franchisee, we respectfully request that you send us
some information about your experience of running a business. We would
expect to see a C.V. indicating that you have the right business acumen
and commercial experience ( not necessarily in franchising or even in
our industry ). If you have a corporate background, are an industry
high flyer or someone who has operated a successful business with staff
and a reasonable infrastructure we would be particularly interested in
hearing from you.
To summarise, the type of person we seek
will normally be able to demonstrate the following:
• Ideally someone who has business
experience in the market where they are seeking a franchise.
• A strong desire to succeed, work hard, and
contribute to a winning team
• Demonstrated personal integrity with
emphasis on interpersonal skills
• A willingness to participate in a
comprehensive training program
• A willingness to personally devote
full-time efforts to the day to day development of a countrywide Chemex
business
• A history of success and the ability to
work well within a franchising organization
• Personal, non-borrowed resources to be
invested into developing a national business and / or the ability to
raise additonal finance through the banks
